Salar Shahna

Salar Shahna is Co-founder of AltNext and Founder & President of the World XR Forum. A Swiss creative producer, strategist, and cultural entrepreneur, he works at the intersection of immersive media, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology.

He is the founder and president of the World XR Forum, which has brought together global leaders in extended reality and digital storytelling since 2015. In Crans-Montana, Salar has annually gathered XR industry leaders from around the world, launching pioneering programs including the XR Residency, WXRChat, Virtual Travel Lounge, and XR Kitchen. His curatorial and production work spans international festivals and institutions — from Sundance and Venice to the Cannes Film Festival — often highlighting the ethical, cultural, and political dimensions of emerging media. He currently serves as Partner and Creative Director at SensoryX, a Swiss spatial computing company developing next-generation motion tracking and XR input systems. A longtime advocate for accessible creative technologies, Salar has advised governments, guided startups, and led innovation missions across Asia, Europe, and North America.

In 2025, Salar co-founded AltNext, bringing his decade-long global network of film, XR, and interactive media creators and experts to bear on one of the most internationally connected communities for experience creators — bridging creative ecosystems across AI, spatial computing, and immersive storytelling.
